On a beautiful Sunday morning, May 21, 2017, Larry David Parrish died unexpectedly at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 3 o'clock at Paulk's Chapel in his family's plot. Reverend Gordon Poole will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, May 22, from 6 – 8 pm at Banks Funeral Home Chapel.
Larry was born in Moultrie on August 27, 1954, to the late Robert David Parrish and his beloved mother, the late Janice Davis Parrish Autry. He is survived by his stepfather, Edward Lee Autry. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Grafton S. Willis.
He had lived in Worth County most of his life. On August 10, 1973, Larry and Cynthia Willis Parrish were married. Although they had their ups and downs, they were blessed with 42 years of marriage. To their union were born three sons who survive, Jason David Parrish of Santé Fe, Texas; Jarvis Wade Parrish of Bay Town, Texas; and Justin Kane Parrish of Worth County.
Larry loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of several hunting camps where he and Cynthia enjoyed camping out. He loved his Harley, although he didn't ride it as often as of late. He also enjoyed keeping a good looking truck, which he kept spotless. He was an electrical superintendent and electrical planner for EGC Construction of New Port News, Ky at Proctor and Gamble, Albany, for over 25 years.
Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Cynthia Doris Willis of Pine Shadows, Sylvester; his sister Janet and Tony Willis of Worth County; his brother Robert Dale and Krysta Parrish of Loris, SC; 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; brother and sister-in-laws, Vickie and Billy Young, Theresa and Bob Vaglienti, Wendell and Ann Willis, and Clari and Delbert Douglas, all of Worth County; several nieces and nephews; step-siblings Ed, Albert, and Jeff Autry, and Sherry Smith; and Larry and Cynthia's devoted dogs, Sugar and Taz.
Larry also leaves behind his and Cynthia's best friends, Johnny and Cindy Hancock, John and Karen McCann and Robin and Stephanie Churchwell.
