Ms. Frances Powell Watson, 72, of Tifton died Monday, February 12, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Ms. Watson was born on April 12, 1945 in Tifton, GA to the late Harmon Ira and Cornelia Isabella Elliott Powell. She had lived in Southwest Georgia all of her life. Ms. Watson attended Auburn University where she studied Interior Decorating. She was a gifted floral designer and gardener who served as a longtime member of the Tift County Garden Club. Ms. Watson was the co-owner of a Tifton antique and gift shop, Southern Station. She loved her cats, spending time in her garden, and caring for her greatest love, her family. Ms. Watson was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Tifton.
Survivors include her children, Amy Riggins (Harold), and Michael Watson (Tammie) all of Tifton; grandchildren, Chelsea Casey (Cody), Ashley Riggins, Christina Salter, and Isabella Watson; great-grandchild, Caitlin Riggins; the father of her children, Mickey Watson; and numerous extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until the Service Hour at Banks Funeral Home Chapel.
